I never Knew…
I never knew…
I never knew…
I never knew what I was missing
Till I went dancing;
Where I found myself meeting.
As time got itchy and flying
I got settled to drinking.
I never knew that I would be seeing
A girl in Caribbean dressing.
At the corner of my eye, I noticed her approaching;
Her white smile beaming
That she got me turning.
She signaled for a sitting
While I was blushing.
She was a girl from Sudan;
Here touring and campin'.
Her skin was a simmering black;
From a queened face to back.
I smiled at her name;
They called her Miriam.
Miriam knew a love language
Of a charm and courage.
She didn't care that I had scars;
They just reminded her of hers.
She said love must hurt;
It trains a heart.
I laughed,
She smiled.
Before I knew we were talking
While laughing
With fingers doing an intertwining.
All the noise was disappearing
Leaving us caught in a teasing.
We danced
And closely held.
Her slim body tingled with excitement
At our every rhythmic movement.
I looked into her eyes; they were burning
Causing me a wanting
And a wishing for tomorrow to be without a morning.
She paused
Touched my lips that poised.
As we kissed
In excitement she kicked.
I never knew what I was missing
Till I got meeting
A girl in Caribbean dressing.
